The Mae Hong Son area of Northern Thailand is a popular holiday destination for Thai nationals and visitors. There are many resorts offering good accommodation and some not so good, we have spent enough time in the area to know our way around and have chosen our accommodation stops based on quality of facilities provided, the food on offer and overall cleanliness.
We always use a quality hotel when we are in Chiang Mai
At the beginning and end of a tour we will be staying in Chiang Mai, we like to use the Downtown Inn which is located in the heart of Chiang Mai, the hotel is situated next to the Handicraft Centre and the famous night bazaar.

All 72 guest rooms have an elegant boutique-like interior and equipped with individually controlled air conditioning, mini bar, colour television, multi-channel music system and direct dial telephone.
The hotel also has a swimming pool.
The hotel is located a 5 minute walk from the famous night bazaar and close to landmarks such as MacDonald's burger bar so navigating your way back to the hotel at night is straight forward.
We will meet your flight on its arrival at Chiang Mai Airport.
Transfer to hotel accommodation is by our own Toyota Vego or the hotel taxi service.

During the rest of the tour we will be staying in resort style accommodation typically small chalets with a central gathering place for eating and socializing.
Accommodation is on a single room basis - no sharing.
Some places have a swimming pool, most places offer massage, some even have internet access but don't expect it to be a fast connection or reliable.
What better way to unwind at the end of an afternoons trail riding than with a swim in the pool followed by a Thai traditional massage.
Where ever we stay we try and find the best of what ever is available.
